Making The Most Of A Two Bedroom Apartment

An apartment may be the perfect type of housing for you at this moment in your life. There are so many good things that apartments have to offer, but many times they are quite a bit smaller than a house. This means, you want to do everything in your power to make sure you are getting the most out of the space you do have in that apartment. This article is going to offer you some very helpful tips on getting the most from your two-bedroom apartment.

Put up a lot of shelves

When you put up a lot of shelves, you will be able to put a lot of things up on the shelves that may have otherwise had to take up floor space. When you live in a smaller home, that floor space will be important to you. You also want to add shelves into closets and this includes your clothing closets and your vacuum closet.

Buy furniture with storage built in

You can purchase a lot of different furniture that has storage built into it. For example, you can purchase a footrest with a top that lifts off and allows you to store things inside of the foot stool. If you keep the footstool in your living room, then some good things to keep in the footstool would be throws, family games, or anything else that you will get more use out of in the living room.

When it comes to bedroom furniture, you can purchase your child a captain's bed. A captain's bed is a bed that has drawers under it. Those drawers can take the place of a toy box or a dresser, allowing for your child to have more room in their bedroom.

You can purchase a great looking wooden trunk and you can use it as both a place to store even more of your items and as a coffee table. No one would ever expect that you would have things stored in it and would just think that you had a creative coffee table in your living room.

Think through your gardening

If you want to garden in an apartment, you can grow things like tomato plants in a small space and even hang them from the eaves of your patio. You can also grow an herb garden in the window sills of your apartment which will take up hardly any space at all.
